Laragh Heritage are playing their part in ‘The Gathering 2013’, you can play your part too!
Do you know who you would invite back in 2013? Laragh Heritage wish to make contact with any surviving member/relation of families that emigrated from Laragh Village and surrounding townlands (as far back as the famine), with a view to inviting them and their friends home to Ireland for a visit during the gathering year 2013. We need your help! it’s as easy as picking up the phone or typing an email to get the ball rolling. And who doesn’t want to hear a friendly voice from home? We can all be a part of it! www.thegatheringireland.com
Originally, a row of five terraces stood opposite the entrance to the tweed mill in Laragh village. These houses were built to house the mill workers and their families. The original row contained 35 single story houses. Today only one block of 4 houses reamins intact and only one family resides in Laragh Row.
